What's Happening

We are super stoked the holiday weekend is here!  This week's well-timed storm delivered over 10'' of fresh snow, and every lift and mountain area will be open all week, welcoming you to a well-deserved winter getaway and beautiful forecast ahead.  Today's bluebird day will see the murkier weather of Friday move on out- leaving behind some northwest breezes but an otherwise comfortable day!   Don't worry about a few glades and smaller runs hitting the pause button, we expect the trail count to bounce back quickly as the weather and snow move into an ideal flow of chilly nights and seasonable days.  Some ungroomed terrain might open a bit later in the morning as temperatures rise.  Our Interconnect with the Historic North Creek Ski Bowl is open daily- just a heads-up that we look forward to welcoming the USCSA Nordic Divisionals this weekend.  Are you skiing or snowboarding for the first time today?  Try our 1, 2, or 3-day learning packages that put together terrific value and results for ages 13+.

Special Notes

Kids love the fun of our Holiday Camps, and parents love the value and results- check out our 2-day option starting Saturday or our 3-day option kicking off on Tuesday!  Today's Food Court lunch special is a turkey melt panini for $9.50 (passholders always get 20% off the special).  For Saturday, make it an early morning for a good parking spot and our Cup o'Joe & Go lessons, say hi to the LL Bean Bootmobile, and plan to kick back in the beautiful Tannery Pub for live music.  The Village Chair will be spinning until 8pm nightly at the Ski Bowl!  All lift tickets and passes are also valid here, so extend your ski day into the evening hours with some fun runs under the lights.   Safety reminder:  In the parks, have a plan for each feature you plan to hit, and make sure your landings are clear before taking off.  While we're talking parks, plan to join us for Monday's USASA Boardercross

Podcast

February 16 Pod
February 15, 2019

Thank you so much for tuning in, this is Emily with your More Gore Podcast for Saturday, February 16, Ski Day #89.  A sunny stretch of weather is in store for the

holiday period to begin, this is a forecast we all deserve for just an ideal winter week to have fun with family and friends.  And blue sky with those Adirondack views, it's

going to be a nice one today and beyond.

Some glades just hitting the pause button while Friday's mixed bag of weather moves away- I really don't think it will take long for them to come back and the summit

even got a little bit of new snow amid that diverse little weather system- so upper mountain glades should hang on.  Loose granular machine groomed conditions

anticipated to get us open- again you'll see the snow get back to pretty steady normal enjoyable conditions throughout the day.  Mostly sunny, with a high near 28.

Northwest wind around 10 mph, higher gusts possible here and there so keep that in mind as you're layering it up as this could be a day where the top of the gondola

feels noticeably different than the Base.

Night skiing every night at the Bowl until 8pm- don't forget to add to your day with us under the lights- it doesn't seem like enough people know about that perk and

it's such a nice bonus- especially as we sneak up to a February full moon.  There's been almost a foot of snow this week alone and this place is good to go- for today, it

begins with our Cup o'Joe and go program- 1 hour lesson and hot morning drink for just $29- such a steal- then say hi to the LL Bean Bootmobile as it rolls on into the

Base Area- check the kids into our 2-day holiday camp, then join us apres-ski for the Radio Junkies and a show in the Tannery from them 4-7pm.  Nordic racing

happening at the Bowl so you can check on that as well.

With a holiday weekend, make the most of it by doing everything early if you can.  Get here early to park closer if you can- tickets open at 8am as do rentals.  Arrange

for lessons in advance if you can.  Do lunch early so you're not hitting foodservice at peak times if you can help it.  If you can't do these things, We have so much terrain

open that once you are all set

Today's lunch special features Turkey Melt Panini- $9.50.  Remember passholders, you save 20% off that daily food court lunch special.

When merging onto a trail, reduce your speed, look uphill, and yield to others.  There will be more people than a typical weekend enjoying the slopes, as well as lots of

folks learning, so just keep that in mind and be aware of others enjoying the new snow.

Thank you so much for tuning in, and make it a great snow day out there!
