Due to severe wind chill factors today, we will be operating the lower mountain today, adding the gondola only if and when winds allow.  Check back frequently for updates.  22" of beautiful snow on Sunday delivered a truly memorable day!  If you're out to grab your share of the fresh powder today, layer up well, stay hydrated, and stash some warmers and snacks in your pocket.  Check out our lodges on most or every run today to keep warm.  Groomers have been working hard to level out almost two feet of new snow- expect powder conditions again today!  Remember to grab your e-tickets in advance for excellent savings any day of the season!

Special Notes

Your lift ticket or season pass is valid at our Nordic Center and Village Slopes at the Ski Bowl, where today we will be hosting the USASA Border/Skiercross event. This exciting freestyle race begins at 11am. Because there is more midweek snow in the forecast, check out our weekend ski and stay packages for future mountain fun!  Safety reminder: Prior to using any lift,  need to know how to load, ride, and unload safely. Be sure to ask one of our friendly lift attendants if you have any questions. They are there to help. Today's Food Court lunch special is a Bacon Cheeseburger for $9.50 (passholders always save 20% off the special).

Carl Heilman II Photo Workshop

Carl Heilman II Photography Camp

MAXIMUM 15 PEOPLE - contact Carl to reserve yours spot- this class will sell out!

Learn how to shoot various nature photography from the best in the business, with Gore as the backdrop.  Carl Heilman has been photographing the Adirondacks since the mid-'70s and began leading photography workshops in the mid-'90s.  Explore fall foliage techniques, landscapes, wildflower photos, moving water, and more.  Includes lunch, scenic gondola ride, and instruction.

Our Comprehensive Gore Mountain Photo Workshop for beginner to intermediate photographers features instruction on many facets of photography including - camera basics, photography principles, digital camera features and menus, lenses, RAW files, exposure, HDR, depth of field, motion, composition, lighting.  The class begins with and builds on the most basic camera principles to help a person gain complete control over every shot they take.  The key to taking better photos is knowing how to take the shot you want, rather than wondering how you managed to get a nice photo!

Enjoy some great opportunities for photographing mountain landscapes and wildflowers, as well as streams and cascades.  While the class is geared toward DSLRs with interchangeable lenses, many of the techniques can be applied to full featured point and shoot cameras as well.  Just bring along your photo gear and enthusiasm for extending your photographic possibilities and experimenting with new photo techniques.  The 8 hour day features about 4-5 hours of instruction using a detailed PowerPoint, including time for working with the cameras and Q & A - plus a gondola ride and time to experiment with the camera techniques and photography principles in the field.
