What's Happening

We hope this chilly forecast has you in a snowy mood....did you know that for the 5th year in a row, we're adding another big fresh fleet of new snowmaking guns?  Can't wait to put them to work in a few short weeks.  Another exciting update is our new nordic operation at the North Creek Ski Bowl- we're introducing 4k of nordic/snowshoe terrain that features both lights and grooming.  Access to these trails are included with all day tickets and season passes.

Interested in joining our team? Don't miss our job fair on October 29!

Special Notes

To get you geared up for the season, be sure to take note of our November 11 price deadline for season passes and multi-week snow sports programs.  Parents and kids alike love our season-long and 6-week programs for ages 4-12!  Meanwhile, adults can register in advance and save on our midweek programs- Ladies Escape on Wednesdays or co-ed Secret Society of Skiers on Thursdays.  Did you know that all 16/17 season passes include a built-in bonus lift ticket to share with friends or family?

We have many other ways to save for the upcoming winter- frequent skier cards include your first day at Gore and every 6th day FREE, with discounts for each visit between!   Choose your days in advance and save with e-tickets, or for the most flexibility consider our four-pack Snow Samplers, these vouchers are accepted any day of the season but only available to purchase through December 9.

Bobcat Loop - offering an exclusive adventure for snowshoers. A great combination of gentle rolls and climbs for beginning snowshoers , or a fast-paced aerobic workout for the more experienced. (.7 km)

Little Notch Loop - easy climbs and descents make it perfect for beginners. Winds past ledges and rock outcroppings. Provides access to Bobcat Loop and Alexa Run. (1.1 km)

Tannery Alpine - a wide trail, popular with skiers who prefer the skating technique. Gentle to moderate climbs. (1.6 km)
Above the upper Tannery Loop crossing of Tannery Alpine exists the remains of Swanson's Sawmill, built during the 1920s. The foundation housed a steam boiler for the mill's operation. The Straight Brook and its feeder streams were dammed, providing the water supply for the boiler. Tannin, a chemical extracted from the bark of hemlock trees, was used in the tanning of leather for many years.

Partridge Cut-Off - short and gentle, an excellent trail for first timers or those looking for a brief outing. (.5 km)

More Difficult

Alexa Run - an intermediate trail with a long gradual downhill and one steep uphill climb. Many picturesque open views of the Adirondack forest. Leads back to Little Notch. (1.1 km)

Doe Brook Loop - a wide scenic trail through mixed hardwoods and evergreens. Enjoy the views above the Straight Brook valley. A challenge for advanced "skaters". (2.6 km)

Tannery Loop - moderate climbs and descents through stands of spruce, firs and mixed hardwoods. Parallels the deep ravine of the Straight Brook. Enjoy a picnic lunch at this overlook. ("Carry it in, carry it out!") (1.6 km)
