Saturday, January 22, Day #1 8:30 Welcome! Sign in at the Information Desk in the Base Lodge.
8:30-9:15 Over breakfast of your choice, meet your group and determine your goals for the camp. This could include increasing your speed in the gates, learning techniques to ski faster (beat your friends!), or picking up some race coaching techniques to help coach your school team.
9:15-12:00 On the snow! Warm up with a few runs exploring the lower half of Gore, where we'll go over your skiing out of the gates to improve your time. We'll grab some video* of your skiing as coaches give you some tasks that apply to racing, while keeping if fun and safe.
12:00 Break for lunch with the group - hot soup and sandwich is a great midday treat! Or try one of our famous Adirondack salads!
12:45-3:30 Back out on the hill to tackle the NASTAR course. Learn about the rise line - where to turn, when to turn. Read a course, considering the conditions to ski it faster. Carving is great, but when do you need to ride a flat ski for best results? Your Coach will share all these secrets with you!
3:30 Head to the Tannery Pub to enjoy some live music, have a drink, and celebrate your day!
*Video is usually taken on Saturday, but subject to change due to weather and visibility. A review of video is conducted during the weekend to see how well you are skiing through the course! Sunday, January 23, Day #2 8:30 Check in with your group and grab some breakfast (how about our yummy Trailblazer breakfast sandwiches?) and boot up to head out on the hill.
9:15-12:00 Jump in the gondola for some early morning turns, then head on over to the race course. What makes today's course different from yesterday's? What changes do you need to make to ski this course with finesse and more speed?
12:00 Lunch Break - Skiing is a calorie burn, time to recover!
12:45-3:30 More fun and more gates. We'll check your times to see how they've improved. Wind down the day with some skiing out of the course, and we'll evaluate how your technique has improved on other trails. 3:30pm: Live entertainment in the Tannery Pub!
