Improvements

At Gore, we keep making your mountain so much better.  Take a look at our recent improvements!

SNOWMAKING EXPANDS & GLADES GROW ON BURNT RIDGE MOUNTAIN
We recently opened our all-new development on Burnt Ridge Mountain, one of our four unique peaks. We added four new trails and two new glades there (that's just for starters). The terrain increased Gore's vertical drop to 2,300 feet and added about 50 acres of skiing, with a blend of intermediate and expert terrain serviced by the luxurious high-speed Burnt Ridge Quad.  For 2009/2010, look for more snowmaking, with guns being added to "Sagamore"- a monster expert trail that will keep you on your edges for over 1400' vertical.  Also, in improving access to the new area, the Cirque Glades will be extended all the way to the base of the lift and work will be done to regrade the "Cedars" trail.

EXCITING SKI BOWL PROGRESS - We are making major lodge improvements at the North Creek Ski Bowl for 2009/2010!  Look for new restrooms, updated ticketing, modernized foodservice, and better seating.  (Basically we're keeping the fireplace.)  Trail work is underway towards Gore's interconnect to the historic area, scheduled to open in 2010/2011.  This season Gore will continue to offer daytime and twilight skiing and riding on "Village Slope," a terrain park with half-pipe, an excellent tubing park, and several family-oriented events.

ALL-NEW TERRAIN PARK ON WILD AIR - We are moving our terrain park to a widened Wild Air!  This location offers quicker access from the gondola, along with a bigger audience (all of the guests on the gondola) to show off your newest tricks on all of the new elements brought to you by the Park Team.

THE NORTHWOODS LODGE - The old gondola building was recently transformed into all-new Northwoods Lodge!  Constructed in partnership with Lincoln Logs, the new lodge houses the Kids Klub children's program, daycare, group sales, and rentals. Beginners, families, and bus groups are able to access the Northwoods Lodge directly from the parking lot, and then enter the Base Area wearing rental equipment, with children secured in daycare or lessons! Immediately accessible from the Northwoods Lodge is the Bear Cub Run trail, terrain offering an ideal experience to the first-time skier or rider.  The Snow Train conveyor lift, lengthened to 100', is accessible from this trail for children's programs.

BETTER BASE LODGE - While beginners and families enjoy the convenience of the Northwoods Lodge, guests heading right to the slopes benefit from 7,500 square feet of remodeled space in the Base Lodge!  More seating, lockers, hooks, and storage space are now available.  Look for great base lodge renovations to retail, ticketing, and foodservice for 2009/2010, already in progress!

IT'S ALL ABOUT THE PRODUCT... When we expand terrain, we expand our snowmaking and grooming capabilities to match.  Look for yet ANOTHER new grooming machine during 2009/2010 and thirty more tower guns.  50 new tower guns were installed on “Hawkeye” and “Echo” for 2008/2009.
