Learn to Ski or Ride, or Get Better at Gore in 2008/2009!

Gore Mountain offers skiers and riders of all levels many programs to help improve their skills and learn tactics for sliding down the mountain easier and more efficiently. If you are a first-time skier or rider, we can help you learn quickly and safely.

Class Lessons, Discover Programs, and Ski & Ride Better all offer 1 hour 45 minutes of coaching, and are available daily at 9:45am and 1:15pm, with an additional lesson at 10:45am on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.  For skiers or snowboarders, no reservations necessary.

Discover Skiing/Snowboarding
For your first day out, our Discover Ski/Ride program is a great way to get started!  The program includes a beginner lesson and lower mountain lift ticket (this includes Gore's surface lifts, as well as daytime use of the Village Chair at the North Creek Ski Bowl) for 1st time skiers or snowboarders ages 13+.

Ski & Ride Better (novice/advanced)

The most value-packed way for skiers and snowboarders of all levels to take their skiing/riding to the next level! Includes lesson and all-mountain lift ticket. We recommend this program for people who have spent at least one day on the mountain before.

Private Lessons (For all ages)
For all ages and abilities of alpine and telemark skiers, or snowboarders!  One-on-one individualized coaching allowing you and your instructor to focus on your personal snow sports goals.   Request an instructor of your choice, or allow us to personally select a qualified instructor for you.  Reservations are strongly recommended, and are required for telemark private lessons.  If you wish, create your own Private Group with your family or friends- all participants must be of like ability level and age.   Private group lessons can have a maximum of 5 persons. Lift ticket not included.

Teen Holiday Camps!

3-day ski & ride camps for teens ages 13-17.   Open to all levels of ability from first-timers to advanced black diamond skiers/riders.    All-day sessions include 3-day lift ticket, lunch and supervision for your teens.   Program meets outdoors 9:30 – 12:00, and again after lunch 1:00 – 3:30.

Christmas Holiday Camp: 3 all-day sessions, Monday-Wednesday, December 29-31, 2009, $299.
President’s Week Holiday Camp: 3 all-day sessions, Tues-Thurs, Feb. 17-19, 2009, $299.

 

Weekend Camps for Teens

Bad Boards Club
For teens ages 13-17, the Bad Boards Club is for intermediate and advanced skiers and riders.  Join the extreme team and learn to ride rails, ski/ride the steeps, run a NASTAR race course, tackle the bumps, and more.  These 2-day adventures are taught by guys and gals who can rip it up!   Each weekend is a different experience!  Sign up for all 6 weeks, or just those weekends of your choice.  Includes 2-day lift ticket, coaching, and lunch.   9am-3:30pm.

Saturdays in the Parks - Ages 13-17

Want to hang out in the terrain parks?  Join us Saturday afternoons, 1:30-3:30 and grab some pointers on riding in the park.  Safety and etiquette are enforced along with having a good time and meeting new kids.  Open to teen skiers/riders of intermediate level or better.   Buy lessons on an individual basis, or as a 6-pak at a savings.  Saturday afternoons, Dec 13 - Mar 14, 2009. No reservations required.

Instructor in Training

 

Ages 13-15 can join this season-long program and learn all about what it takes to be a ski or snowboard instructor!  Learn the technical components of skiing and riding, while improving your own skills out on the hill.  You'll learn how to teach, what to teach, and what terrain is best for given teaching situations.  In addition, you will observe classes to see the variety of teaching and learning styles, and get a first-hand experience of what it is like to be an instructor.  Most importantly, you'll have fun, meet other teens, and learn about the ski and snowboard industry. 

 

Season-long program, Dec 13, 2008 - Mar 22/09.  

Meets 9:15am -12:00pm and 1:00pm - 3:30pm.  Includes lift ticket for participating days only.

Burton LTR

Thinking of learning something new, like how to snowboard?

Burton's Learn to Ride (LTR) program incorporates the right equipment with proven teaching methods to make learning to snowboard easy and fun for everyone.

LTR is a specialized program for those snowboarding for the first time, or looking to progress to the next level.  Our equipment for beginners is tailored by gender and age to maximize each individual's learning potential.  The size, shape, and flex of these boards along with a specific edge bevel make it easier to learn than ever before!

Our highly trained instructors, and equipment suited just for you, will make for a great snowboarding experience.  Once you learn to ride, you'll have the MORE GORE craving too!
