The the colder temps are staying with us tonight- snowmakers and groomers are on the move with efforts to turn the terrain around as quickly as possible!   Be aware of areas of thin cover and bare spots, keep your speed low, and as always, have fun while skiing with care.  Some areas/trails may open later in the day.  Our Women Only Ski and Snowboard Clinics are happening this Saturday and Sunday- clinics include tickets, meals, instruction, and celebration, and we encourage ladies of all ability levels to take advantage of this value-packed deal.  For a limited time, we are excited to be distributing our Ski Bowl Illustration poster- it's free for passholders and $10 for everyone else!  Check out the details.

Special Notes

Snowmakers are on the job, with efforts focused on the top of Bear Mountain, throughout Sunway, Foxlair, Bear Cub Run, and the Ski Bowl.  Friday's Food Court Lunch Special is a tasty Tuna Melt Panini for $9.  Or, take a break mid-mountain in the beautiful Saddle Lodge which serves food- including their delicious pulled pork or chicken tacos and cold or warm beverages.  While there, take in the stunning views of the Adirondacks!  Safety Tip: If you are merging onto a trail, be sure to look uphill and yield to others.  Please note, Echo and Crystal will be open for racing only today.

Steep Techniques: For Alpine & Telemark Skiers and Snowboarders

Conquer Pitch like a PRO! Steeps Techniques Clinic. Intermediate and advanced Alpine and Telemark skiers & Snowboarders. February 3-4. Includes: Ticket, video analysis, feedback, equipment discussions, breakfast, lunch, apres ski party & Lots of time on the snow with our best instructors!

Intermediate and advanced alpine and telemark skiers, and snowboarders ages 18+, team up with some of our best instructors for the weekend.

Learn new techniques to tackle the steeps, and make your time on more difficult terrain fun and exciting! 

Our adult weekend clinics include tickets, meals, video analysis, equipment discussions, lots of time on the snow, great feedback from our certified instructors, and a complimentary wine & cheese party!  Please note that rental equipment is not included.

Walk-ups are welcome, be sure to purchase your clinic in person at the Mid Lodge or Snow Sports Desk by 8:30am Saturday.

2-Day Clinic: $245, or $178 for passholders

Sample weekend:

Saturday, Day 1

8:30am: Check-in begins in the Tannery Pub.  Determine your goals for the clinic over breakfast of your choice.

9:15-12:00  On the snow!  Warm up with a few runs exploring the groomed terrain, along with a few pointers of working on your balance – the key to great skiing!  Learn what tactics you’ll need to ski the steeps!

Noon: Break for lunch– fuel up with homemade soup, a deli sandwich, gourmet salad, slice of pizza, or one of Chef Mary's daily specials!

12:45 – 3:30  Back out on the hill!  Start with some steep terrain, then go steeper if you're ready.  We'll ski the whole mountain!  Wherever your coach takes you, you’ll work on new ways to ski terrain with more comfort and ease, while adding variety in your skiing.

3:30  Celebrate your day with a wine & cheese party!

Sunday, Day 2

8:30  Check in with your group, get some breakfast, and boot up to head out on the hill!

9:15 – 12:00  Jump in the gondola and head on up for some morning turns.  There are steeps galore.  Your coaches will be your guide. 

Noon: Break for lunch– fuel up with homemade soup, a deli sandwich, gourmet salad, slice of pizza, or one of Chef Mary's daily specials!

12:45–3:30  Back out on the hill for more fun and more trails to explore!  Long turns, short turns, in the bumps, trying more ungroomed conditions, braving a double-diamond if you want to – More Gore!

3:30  Head to the Tannery Pub, have a drink, and celebrate your day!

Video is usually taken on Saturday, but subject to change due to weather and visibility.  A review of the video is conducted during the weekend to see how well you are skiing!
