Vehicle Maintenance Department Supervisor An administrative/hands-on mechanical position for an individual with excellent organizational and communication skills is available at Gore Mountain. This position reports to the Assistant General Manager. The primary responsibility is providing supervision, direction, and support to Gore Mountain’s vehicle mechanical staff to assure the operational readiness of Gore Mountain’s fleet of heavy and light vehicles on a timely basis. Keys to success in this position are communication, teamwork, organization, advance planning, on-the-spot planning, and record keeping. The individual is directly responsible for managing and coordinating personnel, training, safety, documentation and housekeeping within the department, communicating and coordinating with client departments to insure meeting their vehicle maintenance requirements, and communicating and coordinating with management. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field. Relevant experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. Computer literacy in basic essential business programs and a valid driver’s license are required. Desired skills include a working knowledge of gas and diesel engines, electric motors and controls, electronic controls, hydrostatic drive systems, hydraulics, welding and operation of both stationary and moving equipment. Pay Rate: Classification at Grade 14, entry rate $15.55/hour with an excellent benefit package. You will also receive individual feedback on your personal skiing/riding. If you successfully meet our requirements and are offered a position as an instructor for the 2011-12 season, training will continue throughout the season and during your employment. Responsibilities of an Instructor: Teach children and adults of various ability levels to ski or snowboard Teach all lessons in a safe, supportive manner, while keeping it fun! Perform teaching assignments and other related tasks as assigned Abide by policies and procedures of Gore Mountain Continue professional development by attending in-house training clinics Maintain a level of fitness to perform all work duties; teaching skiing/riding is a physical job Maintain a professional appearance and professional conduct at all times
Qualifications: Commitment to an approved calendar of work days, including peak holiday periods, weekends, and other times of high business volume Work minimum 25 days Christmas Holiday through mid-March Minimum age of 16 years or older Solid black ski/sb pants in good repair (we provide uniform jacket) Modern ski/snowboard equipment in good repair Enthusiasm, patience, passion for snow sports, friendly personality, and a sense of humor! Competent skiing/riding skills on all blue terrain and some black terrain Willingness to teach children Reliable transportation to work, on time, each scheduled work day
Pay Rate: Hourly pay compensation commensurate with PSIA/AASI certification; season pass; discounted rates for Snow Sports programs for family; food discounts.
